Maintenance Engineer

We are Taylor Preston - a meat processor and exporter of lamb, mutton, goat, beef, and associated by-products. Established in 1991, we are privately owned and located in the Ngauranga Gorge, 10 minutes from Wellington CBD.

We currently have opportunities for Maintenance Engineers to join our Engineering Team.
- Our new Maintenance Engineers will report to the Maintenance Manager.
- The Hours of work are Wednesday to Saturday 5.30 am - 5 pm or Sunday to Wednesday 5.30am - 5.00pm.
- Hourly rate is set at $40 - $45 an hour.
If you have:
- Level 4 Trade certificate in maintenance and diagnostics or fitter/turner required
- NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Welding ability Tig, Mig, MMAW
- Good knowledge of sound engineering principals and repairs and maintenance procedures on a large industrial processing site- or a passion to learn in this environment
- Experience in regular maintenance, servicing of machinery and routine checks
- The ability to analyse problems and implement effective solutions in a timely manner and communicate this with those around you
- Experience in managing the maintenance of critical spares
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a strong commitment to upholding health and safety standards
- Is a team player but still able to work on their own
- Has good clear communication skills
- Is organised, with the ability to plan and prioritise workload in a challenging engineering environment
Previous experience in FMCG or transferrable production engineering environments would be an advantage, but the key is the ability to work as part of a team and utilise your problem-solving skills to provide top level service to our processing plant.
