Taylor Preston Ltd is a meat processor and exporter of lamb, mutton, beef and associated by-products.  Established in 1991, the Company is privately owned and located in the Ngauranga Gorge, 10 minutes from Wellington CBD. Taylor Preston is one of the largest employers in the Wellington area, with 750 employees at peak season and operates 52 weeks of the year.

Reporting to the Shipping Manager, and as a member of the Marketing team, initially the role will involve general office duties; filing, scanning copy documents to customers, preparing couriers to send original export documents to our overseas clients and daily inventory checks. There will also be training in the role covering the entering of contracts, booking shipping space, liaising with shipping lines when any issues arise or shipments need to be moved around, updating contracts precisely and accurately, and liaising with customers.

This is a role that requires good time management and keen attention to detail: printing documents from chamber of commerce or shipping lines, to mention a few.  Ability to multi task and manage interruptions well and be able to return to what one was doing.

 The ideal applicant will need:

  • Intermediate computer skills Xcel & Word.
  • Current valid driver’s license
  • To be a team player
  • Working knowledge of Navision.  Full training will be provided.
  • The ability to build strong and positive relationships with our service providers, management, and staff.

The hours of work are 8.00a.m. to 4.00p.m. Monday to Friday.  We would consider school friendly hours for the right candidate.
